How training people and protecting people pay for each other

Our trainees learn by doing real security work for community organizations that could not afford to hire help. The organizations get protected. The trainees get the hands-on experience employers ask for in interviews. When a trainee gets hired, they often come back to teach the next group.

  1. A person joins to train for a cybersecurity job.
  2. They practice on a real organization's real problems, with a coach.
  3. The organization gets safer. The trainee gets experience and a reference.
  4. The trainee gets hired, and the next person starts at step 1.

Priority communities: older adults, survivors of abuse, and people with immigration concerns.

Safety on this site

Quick exit, and what it does and does not do

The yellow bar stays at the top of every page. Pressing Esc twice, or tapping Quick exit, sends this tab to a weather site and replaces this page in your tab's back button. It does not clear your browser history, cached pages, or anything a monitoring app on this device may already have recorded.

If you think your device is monitored, read this site on a device the other person cannot reach, such as a library computer or a trusted friend's phone, and use a private window.

How it behaves

  • Esc, Esc within two seconds, anywhere on the page, including inside a form
  • Opens weather.com in this tab and swaps the page out of back history (location.replace)
  • Also opens a second neutral tab so the first thing on screen is not a half-loaded page
  • Works with no mouse and with a screen reader; the bar is the first thing announced
  • Never shown on pages embedded in a partner's site; never blocks the content behind it

Clear your history

Short, per-browser steps for Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge, plus iPhone and Android, live at /safety/clear-history. See the Privacy page for how to clear your browser history.
